My Summer Adventures
1. Fitness. Climbing is an amazing sport for building muscle, staying flexible, and conditioning. I'm always guaranteed to get a great workout every time.
2. Creativity. Climbing is for everybody, and because of this, styles depend so heavily on the climber. If you're short like me, you do a lot of dynos and high foot placements, but others may rely more on their flexibility, height, or grip strength.
3. Camaraderie. Climbers are down to earth, kind, creative, and the funniest people I've ever met. I love how social climbing is, even though you have to reach the top yourself, climbers are always ready to give beta (tips) if you need them.
4. The Views. The view from the top is always worth the climb. I love outdoor lead and top rope climbing because of the amazing views once you've finished the climb. Colorado, Wyoming, and Texas have some of my favorite views.
Climbing, like many outdoor sports, has more barriers to entry. Which is why I love @crux, @explore_austin, @blackgirlsboulder, and @blackgirlstrekkin for diversifying the space and making exploring and growing in the outdoors more accessible.
